Portland's Westdale Neighborhood

What if your morning bread
actually tasted like bread?

Hand-fermented sourdough, seasonal pastries, and a carefully curated selection of pantry staples β€” made fresh daily, right here in the neighborhood you call home.

01

Fermented with Patience

Our sourdough ferments for 36 hours. No shortcuts, no industrial accelerants β€” just flour, water, salt, and time.

02

Locally Sourced When Possible

We partner with Oregon farms and regional producers whenever the season allows. What's local shapes our shelves.

03

Made in Small Batches

Every morning we bake what we think we'll sell β€” and we'd rather sell out than overproduce. Freshness over volume, always.

What We Offer

Curated pantry staples including olive oil, spices, and preserves

Pantry & Provisions

Hand-selected olive oils, small-batch preserves, artisan cheeses, and Oregon wines β€” items we'd keep in our own kitchen.

Our Story

Built on a simple
conviction

Mr. Smith's Spirits started as a weekend farmers' market stall in 2018 β€” one table, a sourdough starter named after the owner's grandfather, and a stubborn belief that people deserve bread that tastes like something real.

Four years and one small storefront later, we're still baking before dawn. The neighborhood has grown around us, and we're grateful for every regular who stops in for a loaf and stays for the conversation.

What we don't have in square footage, we make up for in attention. Every product on our shelves is something we'd eat at our own table.
